Shawn M. Johnson, CEPA, CRPS, SE-AWMS, AAMS®, operates his Kingsview Partners practice from the Metropolitan Nashville area, serving clients with a mission shaped by nearly three decades in financial services and a deep commitment to helping people build a stronger future. Originally born in Detroit and raised across several states before graduating high school in the Atlanta metro area, Shawn brings 28 years of industry experience to his work, along with a personal passion for helping level the playing field for individuals, families, and communities who may have gone too long without trusted financial guidance.
He attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, where he played collegiate football and earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management in 1991. He later continued his education through the College of Financial Planning, earning a master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning in 2014.
A Mission Centered on Access and Opportunity
For Shawn, this profession has always been about far more than investments or account balances. He was drawn to financial advising by a desire to serve as a resource for people in his community who may have lacked access to quality financial and investment guidance earlier in life.
That purpose still drives the way he serves clients today. Shawn works to help people pursue what he describes as a work-optional lifestyle while also putting thoughtful strategies in place to support wealth transfer and long-term family impact. Whether he is working with churches, small business owners, or serious individual investors, his approach remains rooted in listening, understanding, and building a roadmap tailored to where each client is today and where they want to go next.
Built Around Process, Listening, and Long-Term Impact
Shawn believes one of the most meaningful parts of his work is helping clients make progress toward the goals that matter most to them. From retirement and wealth building to legacy planning, he takes pride in guiding people through major financial decisions with a comprehensive process designed to bring clarity and direction.
He also brings a strong personal sense of conviction to his work. Shawn has long been motivated by helping the underdog and by supporting families as they work to build generational wealth. That perspective, paired with decades of experience, continues to shape the relationships he builds and the guidance he provides.
A Life Fueled by Family, Competition, and Community
Outside of the office, Shawn leads an active lifestyle centered on family, athletics, and community involvement. He enjoys officiating football and track, playing pickleball, competing in masters track and field, and participating in road races, trail runs, and other health-focused activities. He also serves as co-chair of Black Men Run, reflecting his broader commitment to community and connection.
Family remains at the center of Shawn’s life. He is proud to share life with his wife, Joenequa, and treasures time spent with their two daughters, Kortney and LaJaunea, as well as their grandson, Kamari.
