Rick began his career in finance while attending NYU, where he graduated Cum Laude as an Honors Scholar.
He learned the wealth management business while working as an associate under one of Wells Fargo’s top producing advisors in their Park Avenue office. He then spent time working at a boutique firm that specialized in working with ultra-high net worth individuals.
In 2011, Rick opened his own advisory practice and branch office through Edward Jones where he began serving his own clients in the Short Hills area of New Jersey. While at Edward Jones, he earned several awards including one for having the fastest growing practice in the New Jersey region in 2013.
In 2015, Rick had the opportunity to become an independent advisor opening up The Perlman Group through Kingsview Partners. Rick is proud to serve as a fiduciary for his clients and holds the CFP (certified financial planner) and the AIF (accredited investment fiduciary) designations as well as a Certificate in Financial Planning from NYU and a Certificate in Investment Management Theory and Practice from the Yale School of Management.
As a fiduciary, he not only manages his clients’ investments, but he diligently works to implement unique and complex financial strategies to attempt to maximize their tax efficiency and growth opportunities while continuously assessing their risk to reward ratios.
Outside of managing his clients’ investments, Rick often consults with them on every big and small financial decision they make; whether it’s buying a second home, starting a business, planning for their retirement or their kids’ education, or even reviewing and/or cultivating their estate plans. Having worked with and provided guidance to so many individuals, families, and small businesses, Rick is able to draw on those unique experiences and situations to provide crucial insights while guiding other clients who are navigating similar circumstances.
Outside of the office, Rick and his wife, Maria, are extremely passionate and active advocates for animal welfare and animals’ rights. In his spare time, when he’s not standing up for his four legged friends with his wife, you can find him playing golf, riding Anikan, his horse, or playing with his two dogs and cat.
