Luke Rankin is an Associate Financial Advisor based in Sioux Center, Iowa, bringing an analytical mindset, competitive drive, and genuine curiosity about people to his work in financial services.
Originally from Grimes, Iowa, Luke graduated from Dordt University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and minors in Accounting and Economics. He began working in the financial industry during his senior year and has developed experience in equity research and analysis, process and workflow development, client organization, and the day-to-day work that keeps an advisory practice running efficiently. He is currently preparing to sit for the CFP® exam.
Stewardship Beyond the Numbers
Luke was initially drawn to financial services because it combined three things he naturally enjoys: numbers, competition, and building relationships. Once he began working with clients, however, his reason for doing the work became much deeper.
Today, Luke sees financial guidance as an act of stewardship. He enjoys learning the stories behind the numbers and understanding the experiences, priorities, and people that shape a client’s financial life. His goal is to help make that life feel more organized, more stable, and ultimately more abundant.
For Luke, becoming part of someone’s financial life means being trusted with something highly personal. He values the opportunity to ask good questions, share in both the wins and difficult seasons, and become someone clients know is firmly in their corner.
Built to Compete
Competition has always been part of Luke’s wiring. A former collegiate basketball player, he still looks for plenty of ways to test himself, whether through HYROX events, half-marathons, golf, disc golf, pickleball, trivia, card games, or board games. He also volunteers as a coach with his former college basketball program.
His basketball background comes with one especially memorable footnote: growing up, Luke played on the same team as Iowa legend and WNBA star Caitlin Clark. By Luke’s account, she was just as dominant back then.
Building a Life in Sioux Center
Luke grew up in Grimes before moving to Sioux Center for college and eventually decided to make the community home.
He and his wife, Madison, were married in June 2025, just weeks after graduating from college. Madison grew up in Rock Valley and works as a Registered Nurse at Sioux Center Health. Luke describes her as his best friend and one of God’s greatest gifts.
When not working, Luke enjoys staying active, competing in just about anything with a scoreboard, and spending time with Madison and their friends.
