Joel Foster

Joel Foster, a distinguished financial advisor at Kingsview Partners, was born in Montclair, NJ,
and grew up in East Orange. He currently resides in Oak Park, IL. Joel’s career in financial
services spans over 13 years, beginning on May 16, 2011, with Edward Jones in Forest Park,
IL. His journey into financial planning is driven by a deep-seated desire to help and educate his
clients and prospects, guiding them towards achieving their financial goals through meticulous
planning, regular review, and robust portfolio construction and evaluation.

Joel is a proud alumnus of Babson College in Wellesley, MA, where he earned his B.S. in
Accounting and Finance. During his college years, he was actively involved in extracurricular
activities, including basketball, tennis, and rugby, which honed his teamwork and leadership
skills.

Before transitioning to financial services, Joel dedicated 25 years to UPS, starting as a part-time
loader/unloader in March 1985 while concurrently working as a Retail Stock Ledger Supervisor
at Channel Home Center. His commitment and hard work led to various supervisory roles in the
Accounting Department. He progressed from Payroll Supervisor to Accounting Manager,
handling significant responsibilities, including managing budgets and overseeing financial
operations across different states. Joel’s extensive experience at UPS culminated in his role as
District Controller in East Syracuse, NY, managing a budget of $600 million annually.

Joel’s unique approach to financial advising lies in his ability to listen deeply to his clients,
understand their true priorities, and form a partnership aimed at achieving their financial
success. His passion for mentoring is evident through his involvement with 100 Black Men of
Chicago, where he focuses on imparting financial literacy to students and underserved
communities.

In his personal life, Joel enjoys a variety of activities. He loves spending time with his family,
vacationing, and immersing himself in House Music. An avid sports enthusiast, Joel enjoys
golfing, playing tennis, and watching both college and professional sports. As a foodie, he
delights in cooking breakfast, desserts, grilling, and smoking meats, hosting major holidays, and
even smoking turkeys for the Super Bowl. His wife, Lynne Foster, a research and product
development chef, complements his culinary interests. Joel and Lynne, high school
sweethearts, have been married for 34 years. They have two children: Jordan Foster, a
Syracuse University graduate and radio personality, and Lauren Foster, an alumna of the School
of The Art Institute (SAIC), currently residing in Portland, OR.
